Omega Subsea UK is experiencing continued growth and is seeking an ROV System and Operations Engineer to support our expanding offshore operations. This role is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Omega Subsea’s ROV systems across offshore subsea projects. Working closely with offshore ROV teams, project personnel, and technical stakeholders, the ROV System and Operations Engineer will provide operational and technical support to ensure system readiness, maintenance coordination, troubleshooting, and operational continuity across projects and vessel operations. The position is based in our Westhill office in Aberdeen.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational and technical support to offshore ROV teams.
- Support fault‑finding, troubleshooting, and system restoration activities.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules, inspections, and equipment readiness.
- Maintain records of technical issues, repairs, maintenance activities, and system upgrades.
- Support mobilisation, demobilisation, and system testing activities.
- Act as a point of contact between offshore ROV teams, Project Managers, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain maintenance management systems, asset tracking, and technical documentation.
- Liaise with equipment manufacturers and suppliers regarding technical support and system improvements.
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities as required.
- Promote compliance with Omega Subsea HSEQ procedures and offshore safety standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and technical development within the ROV department.
Qualifications
- Technical qualification or apprenticeship within electronics, hydraulics, robotics, mechanical engineering, or related subsea disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, or minimum 5 years offshore experience as Senior Pilot or Supervisor.
- Comprehensive experience with work‑class ROV systems across construction and IRM scopes.
- Strong troubleshooting and maintenance planning experience across electrical, hydraulic, and control systems.
- Experience with maintenance management systems, asset tracking, and technical reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
