We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEPH) to join our Kier Mechanical & Electrical (KME) team based on a new project in the Healthcare sector.

Location: Project Based, Bedford

Hours: Full time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Join Kier Mechanical & Electrical (KME), our internal MEP self-delivery design and build business supporting regional operations across the UK. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEPH), you'll play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of schemes, maximising project profitability whilst building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex and challenging projects across sectors including custodial, commercial, health and science.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin through effective contract placement and control
  • Undertaking procurement activities including subcontract enquiries, tender reviews and order production
  • Producing monthly cost reports, commercial plans and client reports, ensuring accurate forecasting and risk management
  • Valuing and measuring change, advising on contractual matters and managing subcontractor administration
  • Leading and motivating commercial staff, supporting their development and ensuring collaborative relationships across project teams

What are we looking for?

  • You hold a degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying and have demonstrable experience as a surveyor delivering multiple small or medium schemes
  • You have a clear understanding of main forms of contract (JCT, NEC etc) and technical knowledge of MEPH services and systems
  • You hold a Full driving licence, SMSTS/CSCS card, and are competent in Microsoft Office applications
  • You're a proactive problem solver with strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and provide accurate reports on time
  • You're a collaborative team player who builds and maintains positive relationships, communicates clearly and is enthusiastic about supporting others
