About the role
Charlotte Tilbury are on the hunt for a Finance Shared Services GL Accountant to join our growing Group Finance team. This role will be in the newly created shared services function and will be an integral part of enhancing capabilities in the finance department by driving best practice across the global finance function. This will include maintaining the general ledger across the group - ensuring consistency of accounting and reporting across all regions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the integrity of financial accounting and reporting.
This is a nine month fixed term contract
As Finance Shared Services GL Accountant you will:
- Maintain clean general ledgers, ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled fully and reconciling items are addressed and cleared on a timely basis
- Maintenance of the global fixed asset register, including posting of depreciation, additions, and disposals
- Posting of the global payroll journals, including liaison with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure the information received is correctly coded and allocated
- Posting of accruals and prepayments – liaising with the local finance analysts and business partners to ensure all costs are correctly recorded
- Allocation and recharge of corporate costs to other entities within the Charlotte Tilbury group
- Reconciliation of intercompany charges and agreement of balances
- Work closely with internal functions to drive consistency and accuracy of information across the various finance systems (Anaplan, NetSuite, SAP Central Finance) to ensure “one source of truth” - ensuring that all data and information provided is reliable, correct, and up to date
- Ensuring financial records comply with regulatory standards
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports to meet internal and external deadlines
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in general ledger activities, upholding a strong control environment
- Compile and post journal entries in Netsuite with supporting documentation
- Provide first line of support for GL related queries for year-end and interim audit
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and assistance in projects, as required
About you
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Practical knowledge of UKGAAP/IFRS
- Demonstrable understanding of end-to-end finance processes
- Competent in the fundamentals of accounting
- Deadline oriented with a commitment to accuracy
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Independent thinker and driven to achieve best results
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in ERP systems and financial software (NetSuite experience is a plus)
- Ability to prioritise and provide follow up in a fast-paced environment
