The Social Media Business Director is responsible for helping to lead the agency’s social media strategy, driving innovation and ensuring business growth through impactful digital campaigns. You will oversee the creative, strategic and project delivery while providing senior client support and identifying opportunities for growth. Additionally, you will be responsible for financial management, ensuring profitability and efficiency in campaign execution. This role requires a balance of leadership, strategic vision and hands-on expertise, making it ideal for a results-driven leader who combines business acumen, digital expertise and strategic foresight to drive impactful social media initiatives and agency growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop and oversee the agency’s social media vision, strategy and service offerings, ensuring alignment with industry trends and client needs.
- Identify and drive new business opportunities, expanding the agency’s social media portfolio and increasing revenue streams.
- Define KPIs and success metrics for social media initiatives, ensuring performance-driven strategies that deliver measurable results.
- Work closely with creative, content, paid media and data analytics teams to develop integrated marketing solutions.
- Own budgeting, forecasting and profitability for social media accounts, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Lead commercial negotiations with clients, vendors and technology partners to drive value and cost efficiency.
- Regularly report on campaign performance, ROI and key learnings, using data to refine and optimise future strategies.
- Serve as the senior Social lead for key clients, fostering strong relationships, providing strategic counsel and ensuring campaigns align with broader business objectives.
- Lead, mentor and manage a team of social media specialists, providing training and development opportunities and encouraging a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Stay ahead of emerging social media trends, platform changes and best practices, ensuring clients benefit from cutting-edge strategies.
- You have significant experience managing multi-brand, multi-platform social media campaigns, ensuring seamless execution across different markets and audiences.
- You have a proven track record of managing senior-level (C-suite) client and stakeholder relationships and influencing key decision-makers.
- You have an in-depth knowledge of social media platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X, etc.), emerging trends and digital marketing best practices.
- You have experience with forecasts, driving new revenue streams and financial management at an agency level.
- You demonstrate strong analytical skills to interpret performance metrics, optimise campaigns and demonstrate ROI to stakeholders.
- You delegate effectively to empower your team, ensuring the right people are focused on the right tasks to deliver high-quality work at pace.
- You stay informed about emerging technologies, including AI and are open to exploring how automation and AI tools can enhance creativity, performance and efficiency in media.
- You have previous management experience and are confident overseeing the operational output of more junior members of the team as well as supporting their ongoing personal and professional development.
