Overview of the Department – O2 Brand Team
The O2 Brand team sits at the centre of one of the UK’s most dynamic and culturally relevant brands. We work primarily across all ATL communications, partnering closely with channel specialists to deliver integrated, insight-driven, strategic, awareness driving campaigns. The client team operates as the strategic and operational hub of the account: translating client ambition into clear briefs for specialist teams, shaping campaign responses and presenting to clients, and ensuring best-in-class delivery from planning through to reporting.
Overview of the Role:
The Senior Client Executive plays a pivotal role within the O2 brand team, acting as the connector between the client and MG OMD’s channel specialists. You will be the foundation of the O2 brand client team who become the most integrated team member feeding into the Account Manager and pivoting to work with the Account Director and Business Director for specific tasks. This is fundamentally a developmental role. In the early stages, the focus is on learning, exposure and execution excellence — building the foundations required to progress into running campaigns independently.
You will:
- Support the team across live campaigns from brief to post-campaign analysis
- Manage day-to-day workflows between client and specialist teams
- Help manage expectations, timelines and deliverables across multiple stakeholders
- Take responsibility for campaign actions and outputs, with increasing ownership over time
You will also play a key role in helping to alleviate workload from senior colleagues, ensuring processes are adhered to and outputs are delivered to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Planning
- Working with the planning teams to help deliver basis insights.
- Pulling together excel graphs, pivot tables and powerpoint decks.
Campaign Delivery
- Support the execution of campaigns across multiple channels
- Manage timelines, trackers and deliverables (POs, specs, tagging, creative deadlines)
- Coordinate specialist inputs and ensure plans are delivered on time
- Ensure all outputs are checked thoroughly before being shared
- Owner of media plan packs and finance processes.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a day-to-day point of contact for defined elements of the account
- Manage expectations with clients and internal teams
- Translate client feedback clearly and efficiently into specialist actions
- Build strong, collaborative working relationships
- Man mark clients of the same level
Process & Organisation
- Maintain clear and up-to-date campaign documentation
- Ensure financial tracking is accurate and aligned with budgets
- Adhere to established processes while identifying opportunities to improve or streamline ways of working
- Be proactive in identifying risks or delivery challenges early
Reporting & Learning
- Support in gathering and interpreting campaign results
- Work with specialists to build post-campaign reports
- Help translate results into actionable learning
- Build knowledge across channels with the ambition to eventually run your own campaigns
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised and process-driven
- Detail-oriented, with a strong instinct to sense-check and quality-control work
- Curious and motivated to understand how media works end-to-end
- Comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
- A clear communicator, both written and verbal
- Commercially aware and interested in how media drives business outcomes
- Basic financial confidence and budget tracking
Desirable knowledge includes:
- Understanding of media channels and how they work together
- Awareness of planning and measurement tools (e.g. Nielsen, TGI, Touchpoints, DDS)
Development Path
Initially, the focus will be on:
- Learning VMO2 Client Team processes
- Supporting campaign planning and delivery
- Building cross-channel knowledge
- Developing client servicing confidence
Over time, you will:
- Take ownership of defined campaigns
- Lead client calls on specific projects
- Build planning capability
- Progress towards managing your own campaigns independently
