The SWE Developer Productivity organization builds technologies and tools to help software engineers at Apple to do their best work. The SDP Testing Foundations team is creating libraries and services to ensure Apple devices, operating systems, and apps are amazing to use. Our libraries are a crucial part of Apple's development workflow and our services run tests at extensive scale as part of the at-desk and CI workflows of Apple's engineers. This team is expanding the scope and scale of testing that is possible at Apple by building next-gen systems and is looking for people excited by that goal.
In this role you will contribute to a unified automation system for new platform development that supports the full testing lifecycle. You will design and develop client-side libraries for interacting with devices, create standardized automation APIs, and modernize existing automation stacks to use this unified architecture so it works across all of our platforms. You’ll develop services that provide reliable and immediate device access by managing device connections and health, with robust monitoring systems to ensure high availability. This role involves collaborating closely with partner teams to build systems that can efficiently acquire, configure, and make devices available for testing in a scalable manner. This position offers the opportunity to solve complex automation challenges across Apple's diverse software ecosystem. Your work will directly impact product quality and development speed across the organisation, making this role both technically challenging and highly influential. Join our collaborative team of engineers who value thoughtful solutions and continuous improvement in our pursuit of delighting our users with exceptional software.
