We are seeking a Clinical Immunologist to join our team. You will be part of a dynamic, innovative environment and become an integral part of our vision to address patients' unmet needs while building Britain's Biggest Biotech. You will provide internal and external‑facing immunology clinical development expertise and leadership for the OMass immunology portfolio, reporting to the VP, Clinical Development, collaborating with a focused and caring team.
Role Overview
- Partner with the Translational Pharmacology team to shape and deliver the company's immunology strategy to develop a portfolio of differentiated and commercially viable immunology assets.
- Lead clinical development strategy, planning and execution for OMass pipeline of first‑in‑class immunology assets.
- Contribute to discovery and pre‑clinical plans to deliver development candidates with highly differentiated target product profiles.
- Drive efforts to establish clinical biomarker plans to demonstrate early proof‑of‑mechanism and value generation for early immunology assets.
- Contribute to target identification and selection activities, including patient stratification strategies.
Requirements
- MD or MD/PhD with significant experience in immunology and drug development, and a strong track record of advancing novel immunology drug candidates through clinical trials, preferably in a biotech setting.
- Industry recognition as a subject matter expert and extensive knowledge of immunology, particularly in autoimmune diseases.
- Experience in designing and overseeing clinical trials, including familiarity with regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multi‑functional teams.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to present at Board level and to external stakeholders with credibility and confidence.
- Strategic thinking capabilities and the ability to identify and solve complex problems.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of clinical development planning from phase 1 to registration with a multidisciplinary team for immunology assets, rapidly and efficiently maximising candidate molecule potential and differentiation with scientific rigour, and delivering critical data required to make decisions at each key milestone.
- Lead a cross‑functional clinical trial team to design and execute high‑quality, innovative clinical studies within governance‑approved timeline and budget commitments, collaborating effectively with internal colleagues and external partners.
- Collaborate with discovery and preclinical teams to develop and deliver insightful translational plans.
- Responsible for presentation of results and updates of projects at project, corporate and scientific meetings.
- Establish and manage relationships with key opinion leaders and patient organisations to gain and incorporate insights to inform clinical strategy and operational decisions.
- Engage in clinical development support across the portfolio.
- Support Business Development, including due diligence activities.
