Support the development of the medium term strategic plan, supports the Supply Chain Developer in identifying and originating new opportunities and delivering on prioritized (large) projects with external and internal parties.
Support the broader Business Development agenda as a strategic thinking partner for the Supply & Commercial Fuels by keeping a close eye on the external competitive landscape.
Deliver Supply Chain Business Development projects to right size our asset portfolio and position Shell as the number 1 or 2 in each geography, managing the associated capex budget (Maintain margin and growth) as required. This includes:
- Coordinate business and technical elements (with the support of engineering) and align scope and business case with Operation/Business partners.
- Responsible for pre-Investment Proposal (IP) phase up to IP approval; provide business support during the post-IP execution phase.
- After delivery of the opportunity, hand over to Trading, Hydrocarbon Deal making and/or Operations Manage.
- Develop/Support the supply chain portfolio including acquisition/divestment projects to strengthen/align asset base with Strategic needs (according to Manual of Approval rules).
- Support negotiations with external stakeholders which are required for scoping/executing those projects under his/her own accountability.
- Lead/Support the development of new business including new sources of flow and revenue, new product opportunities such as biofuels being ready to capture the opportunity and following clean fuels legislation proactively and support delivery of the Energy Transition ambition.
Preferred Qualifications: BSc Chemical Engineering/BCom Economics with some exposure to Financial Modelling/Valuation or equivalent.
At least 3 years’ experience in supply chain discipline, project delivery and business financial.
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work independently and in a high pressure environment.
