Our client, a successful privately owned business, is seeking a Financial Controller who can bring rigour, influence, and commercial clarity to a growing organisation.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial governance, improving reporting quality, and supporting strategic decision-making. This is a broad, high-impact position suited to someone who enjoys both the technical depth of finance and the interpersonal influence required in a senior leadership setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements
- Manage the audit process and liaise with external auditors
- Oversee VAT, HMRC submissions, and compliance requirements
- Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and reporting standards
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management
- Oversee payroll and ensure accuracy and compliance
- Provide financial insight to senior leaders and challenge assumptions where necessary
- Drive continuous improvement across finance systems and processes
Requirements
We’re looking for a qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong grounding in accountancy practice, particularly in preparing accounts for audit and managing compliance.
