As the Controller, you will be the key financial partner to operational and commercial leaders across the UK business. You’ll provide critical insight, challenge assumptions, and ensure robust financial control across a complex, fast-moving manufacturing environment. This role blends hands-on financial management with strategic influence, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both detail and big-picture thinking.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cost management across manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial functions.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and efficiency programmes, ensuring alignment with global standards.
- Monitor and analyse production variances, material costs, labour efficiency, and overheads.
- Own the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning cycles for the UK business.
- Deliver insightful analysis on performance, trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Build financial models to support strategic decisions, investment cases, and scenario planning.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the UK Leadership Team, providing clear, actionable financial insight.
- Challenge and support commercial, operational, and functional leaders to drive performance.
- Translate complex financial data into meaningful narratives for non-finance stakeholders.
- Ensure strong financial governance, compliance, and internal controls across the UK entity.
- Oversee month-end close, reporting accuracy, and alignment with global finance standards.
- Support audit processes and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record in manufacturing, engineering, FMCG, or another cost-driven environment.
- Strong FP&A capability with excellent analytical and modelling skills.
- Confident business partner with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Commercially minded, proactive, and comfortable operating in a global matrix structure.
