We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and proactive Year Lead to join our pastoral support team. This non-teaching role is central to ensuring students feel supported, safe, and ready to learn. Working closely with teaching staff and senior leaders, you will take responsibility for the pastoral care, wellbeing, and day-to-day support of a designated year group, helping students to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day pastoral support for a specific year group
  • Monitor attendance, behaviour, and punctuality, implementing early interventions
  • Act as a first point of contact for parents/carers regarding student welfare
  • Support students facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges
  • Work collaboratively with safeguarding, SEND, and external agencies
  • Lead on restorative conversations and behaviour support strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and use data to inform interventions
  • Support the delivery of assemblies, events, and personal development activities

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational or youth setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to build positive, professional relationships with students and families
  • A calm, resilient, and solution-focused approach
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training will be provided)

This is a full time role working 37 hours per week term time only plus 2 weeks to be worked on INSET days and during the school holidays.
