Lead Caretaker – Winterbourne Academy, Winterbourne, South Gloucestershire.

Contract: Permanent | Hours: Full time | Salary: £29,540 - £32,061 per annum (Grade 9).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Facilities Manager in the safe and efficient daily operation of the academy's facilities, including site maintenance, non-structural repairs, heating, ventilation, safety, security and cleanliness.
  • Manage the daily lunchbreak supervision and Caretaking team; deputise for the Facilities Manager in their absence.
  • Work professionally and independently, using initiative in a busy, demanding environment.
  • Apply practical skills to contribute to general site maintenance and improvement works.
  • Demonstrate physical fitness to cope with the duties of a Site Supervisor and Lead Caretaker.
  • Maintain a sound understanding of health and safety, including COSHH and Risk Assessments.
  • Exhibit excellent organisational and time-management abilities; communicate confidently and build professional relationships with colleagues and external parties; provide high-quality customer service.

Desirable: experience as a supervisor and qualifications in Health and Safety.

Requirements

  • Capacity to work professionally, independently, and proactively in a busy setting.
  • Range of practical site maintenance skills; physically able to perform duties associated with the role.
  • Sound health and safety knowledge (COSHH, risk assessments).
  • Strong organisational skills and effective communicator with a customer-service mindset.

Desirable: supervisory experience; Health and Safety qualifications.
