About the Role
As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Working closely with teachers and school leaders, you will deliver high-quality learning activities, provide targeted interventions, and occasionally lead whole-class learning in the absence of a teacher.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, delivery and assessment of learning activities.
- Lead whole classes when required, ensuring continuity of learning.
- Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups.
- Support pupils with a range of educational and emotional needs.
- Contribute to pupil progress and attainment through effective teaching support.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage an inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external agencies where appropriate.
About You
- Hold HLTA status or have equivalent experience.
- Have a strong understanding of the primary/secondary curriculum.
- Be confident leading learning activities and managing groups of pupils independently.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Be an adaptable, enthusiastic and proactive member of the team.
