We are seeking a Head of Year to join the team at Abbeywood Community School. The role involves working closely with young people every day, supporting them with all aspects of their school life including their attendance and punctuality, behaviour, uniform, equipment, safeguarding and welfare and, ultimately, their success in school. You will have strong inter-personal skills because relationships with students, families and colleagues are at the heart of excellent pastoral care and they are a key strength of our school community: we care about every student and their family. You may have previously worked in a similar role, or you may be able to demonstrate in your current position that you are a great organiser, someone who is friendly and approachable, firm but fair and with lots of energy and patience! You should have strong communication skills and be able to understand, process and analyse data efficiently.

This is a Fixed Term contract, term time only plus INSET's position working 37 hours per week. This role would ideally start on 1st September 2026 and will come to an end on 18th December 2026.
