At Olympus, every repair you complete has a direct impact on patient care. As a Qualified Repair Technician (Cells), you'll play a vital role in returning our advanced surgical endoscopes to the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance, ensuring they are ready to support clinicians in delivering exceptional care.

Your responsibilities:

  • Repair, refurbish, assemble, and test Olympus surgical endoscopes in line with approved repair procedures and global technical standards.
  • Carry out repairs using detailed repair manuals, method sheets, and specialist calibrated tooling and diagnostic equipment.
  • Deliver exceptional quality by performing thorough inspections and quality checks throughout every stage of the repair process.
  • Help ensure customers receive reliable equipment by consistently meeting productivity, quality, and turnaround targets.
  • Maintain accurate repair records using our service management systems, including repair activities and process timings.
  • Support an efficient workflow by following Shop Floor Management principles, including First In, First Out (FIFO) and effective work-in-progress management.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by embracing lean manufacturing and 6S principles to enhance quality, efficiency, and performance.
  • Work safely at all times, following health and safety procedures while proactively identifying and escalating hazards, near misses, or incidents.

You don't need previous experience repairing medical devices, as we'll provide all the training and support you need to succeed. What matters most is your enthusiasm for learning, your attention to detail, and your pride in delivering quality work.

Key skills:

  • A keen eye for detail, taking pride in producing high-quality, accurate work.
  • Good manual dexterity and enjoys hands-on, precision-based tasks (experience in a technical, manufacturing, engineering, craft, or similar environment is beneficial but not essential).
  • A willingness to learn new skills and follow detailed technical instructions and repair processes.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly understand and share information.
  • Good computer skills, including the ability to accurately record information using digital systems.
  • A collaborative mindset - you enjoy working as part of a team and are happy to support colleagues where needed.
