Reports to a Team Leader. The job predominantly involves the picking of components and subsequent movement of those components to the required place within the factory. The movement of the components is both physical and system based using the ERP system software. The job involves a significant time manually handling components and the various containers and tools used to move them from one area of the factory to another. The job is an active one requiring a significant amount of time on foot and some (but less) time at a computer workstation.
Key Result Areas- Successful completion of mandatory training.
- Compliance with Health & Safety & Environmental procedures.
- Accurate picking of components according to a pick list, shop order or pick tray.
- Achievement of the standard time for the shop order picking operation.
- Accurate movement of components on the ERP system to maintain stock accuracy.
- Accurate completion of the shop order paperwork regarding the picking operation.
- The receiving, unpacking and counting of component deliveries.
- Cycle counting in accordance with the cycle count plan and procedure.
- The transfer of components to the required place in the factory.
- Issuing of parts to Material & Service requisitions for all areas of the business via the ERP computer system.
- Picking of components according to the shop order and pick list.
- General good housekeeping and 6S activities.
- Cover for other functions if trained to do so.
- Transfer of stock to their lineside location.
- Manufacturing environment/factory work (Desirable).
- Medical manufacturing (Desirable).
- Computer hardware and using computer applications and systems (Essential).
- Experience in a role requiring a high attention to detail (Essential).
- Physically fit and able to be on your feet for long time periods (Essential).
The role requires you to be on your feet for extended periods of time during your general day to day activities which include infrequent walking between sites. Some lifting of components within Health & Safety regulation limits will be required as well as moving pallets of work throughout the building to its designated location using a pallet truck. Regular pushing and manoeuvring of various assembly aids is expected.
