OAL is looking for a proactive and organised Project Coordinator to support the delivery of automation and systems integration projects for food manufacturing customers across the UK. Working closely with the Operations Manager, project engineers, commissioning teams, customers, and suppliers, you will help coordinate project activity from planning through to installation, commissioning, customer training, and final handover. This is a hands‑on coordination role within a fast‑paced engineering environment where communication, organisation, and problem‑solving are essential. You will play an important role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while helping create a positive customer experience throughout the project lifecycle.
If you enjoy organisation, communication, and keeping multiple priorities on track, this role offers an excellent opportunity to build your career within a growing automation business.
What this role looks like
Every project at OAL moves through a delivery cycle: planning, build, installation, commissioning, customer training, and handover. As Project Coordinator, you help keep that cycle running smoothly. Some weeks will focus on planning upcoming installations, preparing documentation, and coordinating resources. Other weeks will involve supporting live projects, tracking milestones, communicating with customers and suppliers, and helping resolve issues to keep delivery on schedule. You will work closely with project engineers, commissioning engineers, customers, and suppliers throughout each stage of delivery.
What you will be doing
- Project coordination: Coordinate schedules, activities, and milestones across multiple automation projects to support successful delivery.
- Planning and documentation: Prepare and distribute project documentation including programmes, drawings, RAMS, and site safety information.
- Resource and logistics planning: Coordinate labour, equipment, travel, and logistics for installation, commissioning, and customer training activities.
- Project tracking: Monitor project progress, maintain delivery timelines, and support issue resolution to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Customer communication: Act as a key point of contact for customers during project planning and delivery activities, maintaining clear and professional communication throughout.
- Cross‑functional collaboration: Support communication between customers, engineers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure alignment across all project stages. Assist with installation, commissioning, SAT sign‑off, customer handover activities, and the transition into aftercare and support.
- Project administration: Maintain accurate project records, documentation, schedules, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Health and safety support: Support safe working practices and compliance with customer and OAL standards across office and site‑based activities.
What we are looking for
This role would suit someone currently working as a Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, Project Support Coordinator, or similar role within a delivery‑focused environment.
- Organisation and coordination skills: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep projects progressing effectively.
- Confident communication: Confident communicating with technical and non‑technical stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and engineering teams.
- Project delivery awareness: Understanding of project delivery processes, scheduling, documentation, and project tracking.
- Customer‑focused: Proactive and comfortable working within a fast‑moving team environment.
- Health and safety awareness: Understanding of health and safety processes and RAMS documentation would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence: Required for occasional site visits and project support activities.
