Olympic Sports & Spine (OSS) seeks a full-time proactive customer service-driven PSR to join our Puyallup South Hill clinic. The schedule is Monday – Friday, from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Process all activity related to OSS\’s patient services. Patient service functions supported include phone calls, scheduling, insurance verification, follow-up, maintaining charts, filing, and communication with referral sources. Performs other daily operating functions associated with the front desk position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage all aspects of high-volume patient scheduling.
  2. Collect necessary information from patients for treatment and billing purposes.
  3. Verify insurance and obtain necessary authorizations if required.
  4. Fax appropriate paperwork to referral sources.
  5. Scan documents into the patient\’s account.
  6. Build and maintain all patient charts.
  7. Collect any money owed from patients, balance all money nightly, and print reports.
  8. Maintain statistical log sheets daily to include all follow-ups.
  9. Pull charts for the next day\’s appointments and make reminder calls.
  10. Work on the patient issue listing and task list daily to resolve all issues.
  11. Communicate with OSS staff through Outlook email.
  12. Communicate closely with billing and treating staff to resolve all patient matters.
  13. Open and sort mail daily.
  14. Perform other related duties as required.
  15. Participate in educational activities and attend monthly staff meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Knowledge of insurance and the verification process.
  2. Knowledge of computer programs.
  3. Knowledge of business office procedures.
  4. Ability to operate a computer, scanner, fax/copy, and basic office equipment.
  5. Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system.
  6. Effective oral and written communication with patients, staff, insurers, and referral sources.
  7. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
  8. Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks.

Education/Experience:

High School graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in an appropriately related position OR Equivalent education/experience.
