  • Build Your Career with a Specialist Technical Distribution Business

Are you an experienced internal sales professional who enjoys building long-term customer relationships rather than simply processing orders?

Do you want to join a successful, growing business where you’ll be trusted with your own customer base, work as part of a close-knit team and have genuine opportunities to develop your career?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established specialist distributor supplying HVAC, building controls, electrical and industrial automation products to customers across the UK.

With continued growth and an outstanding reputation for customer service, the business is looking for an ambitious individual to become a key member of the team.

About the Business

Our client is a respected technical distributor with over 35 years of industry experience, supplying market-leading HVAC, building controls, industrial electrical and automation products throughout the UK.

Working closely with manufacturers recognised across the industry, they support a diverse customer base including building controls specialists, M&E contractors, facilities management companies, OEMs, panel builders and industrial businesses.

Despite being part of a larger, highly successful group, the Cardiff operation maintains the feel of a close-knit independent business.

The team works collaboratively, values long-term relationships and genuinely enjoys working together, creating an environment where people stay and build long-term careers.

The Role

Joining an established internal sales team, you’ll take ownership of your own portfolio of customers, developing strong relationships while identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts.

You’ll work closely with customers to understand their requirements, prepare quotations, provide product advice and ensure enquiries are managed professionally from initial contact through to order completion.

This is a varied role combining account management, customer service and proactive commercial activity, working alongside suppliers, colleagues and external sales to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Key responsibilities include

  • Managing and developing an existing portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Building long-term relationships through regular customer contact.
  • Preparing quotations and following up commercial opportunities.
  • Providing technical product advice and identifying suitable solutions.
  • Working closely with suppliers and colleagues to resolve customer enquiries.
  • Identifying opportunities to grow existing business and win additional sales.
  • Maintaining accurate CRM and customer records.

About You

We’re looking for someone who already has experience within an internal sales, customer-facing or technical distribution environment and is looking to take the next step in their career.

You don’t need to be an industry expert from day one, but you should enjoy building relationships, have strong commercial awareness and be keen to learn a technical product range.

You’ll ideally have

  • Experience in an internal sales, account management or customer service role.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, organised and commercially minded approach.
  • The confidence to manage customer enquiries and develop existing accounts.
  • A genuine desire to be part of a collaborative, close-knit team.
  • Experience within HVAC, electrical wholesale, building services, industrial distribution or technical products would be advantageous but is not essential.

What’s on Offer?

  • Annual profit share bonus.
  • Monday to Friday working hours (8:00am - 5:00pm).
  • Ongoing technical and product training.
  • Genuine long-term career progression within a growing business.
  • Friendly, supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Opportunity to build lasting customer relationships rather than purely transactional sales.

If you’re looking for a long-term opportunity with a business that values relationships, teamwork and career development, we’d love to hear from you.
