About the Business

Our client is a long-established specialist distributor supplying electrical, HVAC, building controls and industrial automation products to contractors, system integrators, wholesalers, OEMs and industrial customers throughout Scotland.

The East Kilbride branch has enjoyed record year-on-year growth over the past several years and is on track for another record performance.

As the business continues to grow, it is investing in the next generation of talent to help strengthen its commercial team and support future expansion.

You'll be joining a close-knit and supportive team where you'll have the opportunity to learn from highly experienced colleagues while bringing fresh ideas and energy to the business.

The Role

This is a varied commercial role where you'll gain exposure to all aspects of internal sales and customer relationship management.

  • Build long-term relationships with electrical contractors, panel builders, system integrators, wholesalers and industrial customers.
  • Handle incoming enquiries by phone and email.
  • Prepare quotations and follow them through to order.
  • Identify opportunities to generate new business and reactivate dormant accounts.
  • Develop technical product knowledge across electrical controls, HVAC and industrial automation products.
  • Work closely with suppliers and the wider sales team to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Support the continued commercial growth of the branch.

As your experience develops, you'll be given increasing responsibility and there is a genuine opportunity to progress into an external Business Development role in the future.

About You

  • A degree, or alternatively strong evidence of commitment, self-discipline and a genuine desire to build a career in sales.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence speaking with customers over the phone.
  • A proactive, positive approach and willingness to learn.
  • Good organisation and attention to detail.
  • A full UK driving licence.
