About OLIX
OLIX is growing faster than any technology in history and the explosion in demand has created a massive infrastructure gap; we can no longer build chips or power stations fast enough to keep up. The industry is still leaning on a ten-year-old hardware blueprint that has reached its limit. A new paradigm that is faster and more efficient will be the biggest economic opportunity of the next century and create the most important company of the next decade. OLIX is building this next paradigm; the Optical Tensor Processing Unit (OTPU) achieves performance and energy efficiency that is impossible to match from existing chips.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to contribute to the development of high-speed, mixed-signal, and power-dense electronics that support OLIX's optical compute platforms. You will work closely with ASIC, FPGA, Optical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Systems teams to deliver robust, energy-efficient accelerator hardware, including PCIe-based platforms and rack-integrated systems operating at 25-56Gb/s+. Reporting to the Electronics Engineering Manager, you will contribute to both hands-on execution and technical direction across board-level and subsystem design.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-speed multilayer PCBs supporting 25-56Gb/s+ serial interfaces (e.g. PCIe Gen4/Gen5, SERDES-based links).
- Implement and validate high-current, low-voltage power delivery networks for ASICs and FPGAs.
- Perform signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis throughout schematic and layout phases.
- Contribute to PCB stack-ups, routing constraints, impedance control strategies, and return path methodologies.
- Conduct lab-based board bring-up, debug, and high-speed compliance validation.
- Support integration of analog front-ends, clocking architectures, and mixed-signal subsystems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure system-level performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Contribute to EVT/DVT/PVT builds and transition to production.
- Produce rigorous design documentation and validation reports.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
- Demonstrated ownership of complete high-complexity, high-layer-count PCBs (12+ layers) incorporating large FPGAs, server-class processors, networking, or high-lane-count PCIe architectures.
- Experience with PCIe or other high-speed serial interfaces operating at 25Gb/s and above.
- Solid understanding of signal integrity principles including impedance control, differential routing, jitter, and channel behaviour.
- Experience designing board-level power delivery networks.
- Proficiency with Altium Designer and/or Cadence toolchains.
- Experience performing board bring-up and lab validation using high-speed instrumentation.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capability.
- Effective communicator within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
