Role Overview
We're looking for a Test Analyst to own QA and testing across our digital platforms, customer journeys and wider technology estate. This is a hands-on, mid-level role for someone who can work independently, bring structure and rigour to the testing process, and collaborate confidently with developers and internal stakeholders. You don't need prior knowledge of our specific systems - we're looking for the right foundations, curiosity and attitude, and we'll support you in learning our platforms and processes as you grow into the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Planning & Execution
- Own testing activities across new features, enhancements, integrations and releases
- Review requirements and translate them into clear test scenarios and test cases
- Plan and execute functional, regression, integration and end-to-end testing, identifying edge cases and coverage gaps
- Test key customer journeys - search, pricing, booking and checkout - across web, API and third-party integrations
- Validate responsive behaviour across browsers and devices
- Defect Management & Release
- Own defect identification, documentation and tracking through to resolution, with clear reproduction steps and evidence
- Work closely with developers to investigate issues and validate fixes
- Work with the Head of Technology and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle, flagging testing requirements and risks early
- Provide clear test status, quality assessments and release recommendations
- Quality & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, processes and tooling
- Begin building foundational automated test coverage alongside manual testing - manual testing remains the primary focus, with automation developing as a secondary skill over time
- Collaborate day-to-day with developers and other stakeholders who raise tickets via Jira, keeping them updated on testing status and outcomes
- Challenge requirements where ambiguity or risk is identified, and act as an advocate for quality across the business
Required Experience
- Experience as a Test Analyst, QA Analyst, Software Tester or similar
- Experience testing web-based applications and digital customer journeys
- Understanding of functional, regression, integration and end-to-end testing
- Experience creating and maintaining test cases, scenarios and test documentation
- Proven experience managing defects through to resolution using JIRA or similar tools
- Hands-on experience testing REST / GraphQL APIs using Postman or similar
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum delivery methodologies
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills - able to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders, and manage multiple workstreams independently
- A genuine willingness to learn our systems and processes and grow into the role over time
Desirable Experience
- ISEB / ISTQB Foundation certification
- Experience testing booking, travel or hospitality platforms
- Experience testing Salesforce CRM or Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Experience with payment and checkout journeys
- Understanding of headless CMS platforms, API-driven architectures and caching strategies
- Working knowledge of SQL and database testing
- Experience with cross-browser and device testing tools such as BrowserStack or similar
- Understanding of accessibility, usability and performance testing
- Hands‑on experience with Lighthouse, GTmetrix or similar
- Exposure to test automation frameworks – Playwright, Cypress or Selenium
- Experience building or contributing to automated regression suites
Personal Attributes
- Meticulous attention to detail – you notice things others miss
- Curious by nature – you instinctively look for edge cases and ways to break things
- Collaborative – works effectively across development, design and business teams
- Self‑motivated and organised – able to take ownership and manage priorities independently
- Pragmatic – understands the balance between quality and delivery pace
- Confident communicator – comfortable challenging requirements and raising risks constructively
