This is a hands-on design role that spans concept through to final delivery across multiple touchpoints and platforms. You'll support the Design Lead in elevating creative output, contribute to the development and pitching of new creative concepts, and help review and guide the Artworker's output to ensure quality and consistency across the studio's work.
Success in this role looks like consistently strong, on-brief creative across all formats, a growing and confident creative voice in team and client conversations, and a visible contribution to the quality and pace of the studio's output.
What you will be doing:
- Deliver high-quality design across digital and print touchpoints — including branding, email, interactive PDFs, press, social media, online banners (static and animated), and responsive digital formats.
- Produce work to the client's brief and exacting standards from initial concept through to final delivery, maintaining quality and attention to detail throughout.
- Apply strong typography, layout, and technical craft across all outputs, adapting appropriately for format, platform, and audience.
- Develop and contribute to new creative concepts — bringing ideas that go beyond brief repurposing to add genuine creative value to the account.
- Support the Design Lead, Strategy Director, and Business Director in bringing ideas to life with strong visual storytelling and clear creative rationale.
- Create engaging content across ideation, asset repurposing, reformatting, and original concept development.
- Use After Effects and motion design to elevate creative output where appropriate — bringing ideas to life across animated formats and digital platforms.
- Apply a solid understanding of responsive design principles across digital platforms and formats.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of online banner production — static and animated — and social media content requirements.
- Contribute to client-facing creative conversations — presenting ideas clearly and supporting clients in understanding the rationale behind creative decisions.
- Work collaboratively with creative and client stakeholders, taking and responding to feedback constructively and keeping work aligned to brief.
- Review and provide clear direction on the Artworker's output — checking work against brief and quality standards and flagging issues promptly.
- Support the Artworker in delivering accurate, on-brand work at pace across concurrent projects.
- Uphold and contribute to design craft standards across the team and the account.
- Stay current on platform trends, emerging tools, and creative innovations — applying relevant insight to day-to-day output.
What you need to be great in this role:
- Strong, versatile design capability demonstrated across digital and print — including branding, email, interactive PDFs, social media, banner production, and press.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with confident use of After Effects for motion design.
- Solid design fundamentals across typography, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy — with a portfolio that demonstrates both conceptual thinking and quality execution.
- Working knowledge of responsive design principles across digital platforms and formats.
- Experience with print-based collateral and a sound understanding of branding standards and application.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and present creative concepts across a range of formats and platforms — with the confidence to contribute ideas clearly in team and client settings.
- Track record of producing work that goes beyond execution to bring genuine creative thinking to briefs.
- Experience working alongside client and creative stakeholders — able to contribute confidently to creative discussions and respond to feedback with clarity and professionalism.
- Experience reviewing or providing guidance on junior creative output — with the ability to give clear, constructive direction that improves quality without slowing pace.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a varied workload across multiple formats and deadlines — maintaining quality and attention to detail in a fast-paced, always-on studio environment.
- Proficiency with Gen AI tools relevant to integrated design — including Adobe Firefly and other tools that support concepting, asset generation, motion, and production workflow optimisation.
- Experience building personal AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency and output quality.
- Agentic approach to multi-format design and production challenges — able to break tasks down into clear steps, identify efficient paths to execution, and deliver consistently across concurrent workstreams.
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and apply strong creative judgement before finalising or sharing work.
- Growing understanding of when AI enhances and when it detracts from craft quality.
- Experience in in-house or embedded studio environments.
- Familiarity with interactive PDF production and digital document design.
- Motion graphics capability beyond After Effects — for example, Cinema 4D or Lottie animations.
- Formal qualifications are welcome but not required. Equivalent experience counts, whether gained through work, study, volunteering, or self-directed learning.
