We are looking for an experienced planning and operations manager to join our global Marketing team. This manager-level role will serve as the connective tissue, leading day-to-day team operations, budget oversight, and continuous learning and process improvement. You will advance our goal of an AI-empowered, digitally enabled marketing ecosystem, partnering across global Marketing, Finance, ITS, and regional teams to drive operational excellence and measurable impact. This position does not have direct line reports but requires strong matrix leadership, stakeholder influence, and ownership of program delivery across a globally distributed team.
Please Note: Oliver Wyman/MMC operates a hybrid working policy and we will require the successful candidate to work from the office at least 60% of the time.
What You Will Be Doing
- Strategic Planning and Reporting
- Own planning, resource allocation, and the establishment of processes to ensure the global Marketing function’s efficiency and alignment with business priorities; support annual planning cadences and dependencies throughout the year across channels and regions.
- Maintain quarterly roadmaps with clear priorities, owners, and timelines.
- Track and reconcile spend against plans; maintain POs, accruals, vendor overview, and spend-to-plan trackers; flag variances and risks early for leadership.
- Guide the management of the Marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Cultivate strong relationships across the global, regional, and functional teams and external partners to align strategies, share insights, and capture synergies that enhance business outcomes.
- Operations
- Ensures proactive and efficient management of function-wide processes, ensuring timeliness and high-quality execution.
- Identify and implement opportunities to build new capabilities and processes that enhance the team’s ability to deliver against its mission.
- Coordinate and continuously improve structured knowledge-sharing — assessing needs and designing a program that fosters continuous learning across the team.
- Maintains function-wide internal documentation and resource hubs.
You will lead cross-functional workstreams and mentor junior colleagues through dotted-line and project-based relationships, and will be expected to influence outcomes via governance, process design, and stakeholder engagement.
This role will suit someone with
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in project management or marketing operations with experience working in a professional services firm, agency or other fast-moving matrixed, global organization.
- 2+ years delivering cross-functional programs or managing major operational processes; evidence of leading projects and influencing without direct reports.
- Experience with budget management and vendor oversight required, delivering high-quality strategic insights and impactful contributions to key projects, aligned with the function’s objectives.
