The Business Impact Team (BIT) supports the growth of Oliver Wyman by seamlessly enabling business development and management activities. The Business Impact Manager is a central role in the strategic and commercial development, operation and community building of Marsh’s and Oliver Wyman’s Defense & Security (D&S) task force. The role provides support to the Oliver Wyman Defense & Security task force Leadership, in managing the day-to-day affairs of the task force and is a go-to-person for all colleagues for task force-related topics.
The role translates Marsh’s and Oliver Wyman’s Defense & Security vision into clear strategic initiatives, performance metrics, and operational plans. The role is centered on Oliver Wyman’s D&S strategy roll-out but also supports Oliver Wyman’s leadership in their steering of the collaboration across Marsh businesses in the roll-out of Marsh’s D&S growth acceleration strategy. The Business Impact Manager acts as a thought partner to leadership, orchestrates cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Business Development, Marketing, Legal, Talent, IT, Knowledge, and Events, and ensures that commercial performance, investments, and people decisions are tightly aligned to the business’s strategic goals. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role suited to someone who combines strategic thinking, rigorous analytical skills, strong stakeholder management, and a deep interest in defense, national security, and government-related clients.
Note: Although the initial deployment of this Business Impact Manager role will be in support of the Marsh and Oliver Wyman Defense & Security (D&S) task force, this deployment may change in the future according to business need.
- Manage or support recurring activities that are important to the long-term success and smooth day-to-day running of the business (not exhaustive)

- Management of business to-do list, prioritizing tasks and initiatives
- Execution of people management processes such as objective setting cycles
- Manage or support ad-hoc initiatives according to the needs of the business
- Show leadership within the Business Impact Team, leading key internal projects or initiatives and enabling the success of fellow members for example through participation in learning and development initiatives, best practice sharing etc.
Experience at a leading management consulting firm highly desirable; experience with Defense & Security or government clients is strongly preferred. Experience dealing with confidential and business critical issues. Demonstrates a strong desire to understand Oliver Wyman and Marsh business dynamics and the broader market context.
Project Management and Solution Development: Independently manages and prioritizes multiple projects, leading the development of creative solutions that enhance business performance while meeting tight deadlines.
Bonus: Understands the dynamics of private capital or corporate mergers and acquisitions. Quantitative skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (in particular Excel and PowerPoint), familiarity with generative AI and productivity tools is a plus. Strong academic credentials in fields such as Business, Economics, International Relations, Public Policy, Engineering, or Security Studies; Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
