We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Quality Technician to join our manufacturing team in Knutsford. This is an exciting time to join the fastest growing and most successful family-owned valve manufacturer in the UK.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Resolve material certification issues identified by the certificate checking team with Suppliers/Stockist/Test House/Mill in a timely manner. This could be missing, or incorrect, information and poor-quality copies.
- Liaise with the Engineering and Quality departments for further guidance relating to certification queries.
- Advise/assist suppliers on material certificates and specifications, providing training where necessary.
- Conduct witness testing of products at test houses, ensuring that they comply with the relevant company and customer specific quality standards.
- Identify areas for improvement and contribute to the development of quality policies.
- Conduct internal quality management system audits and product and process audits.
- Support the receipt, recording, investigation and analysis of customer returned products (e.g. CARs & 8D’s).
- Support the Supplier Development Engineer with the management of the supply chain, including performance review visits, supplier audits and raising and monitoring corrective action reports (CARs) where required.
- Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as procedures, work instructions, quality alerts and forms.
- Investigate instances of product and process failure and conduct effective root cause analysis; implement robust corrective actions with proven problem-solving techniques such as 8D and 5Y.
