Oliver Valves is a major supplier to the oil and gas industry with its manufacturing base in Knutsford, Cheshire. We are looking to strengthen our existing South East sales team by adding an experienced Area Sales Manager to our team to sell a highly qualified and recognised range of instrument valves, piping/process valves, and valves for the emerging hydrogen market.
What you’ll be doing:
- You’ll be at the forefront of our business, working with distributors, EPCs, and direct clients to drive sales and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Your key responsibilities will include:
- Presenting our world-class product range and capabilities to clients and stakeholders.
- Managing and growing key accounts within your designated territory, working with OEMs, end users, and engineering contractors.
- Selling to instrumentation and piping engineers, as well as key buyers to secure new business and maintain strong relationships.
- Coordinating RFQs through to POs, ensuring seamless communication with internal teams.
- Analysing competitor activity and working with management to develop strategies to stay ahead.
- Securing product approvals at key target accounts, ensuring we remain the supplier of choice.
- Delivering a customer-focused approach, ensuring client satisfaction at every stage of the sales process.
Who we are looking for:
- A background in mechanical engineering (preferred but not essential).
- Proven experience in technical sales, with a strong sales track record.
- Hands-on commercial experience in an engineering or technical sales role.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients at all levels.
- A proactive, goal-oriented mindset, always seeking new business opportunities and ways to improve performance.
