Technical Documentation Controller – Oil & Gas | Knutsford (On-site)

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Documentation Controller to manage the preparation, collation, and on-time submission of complex technical and compliance documentation for international Oil & Gas clients.

As part of a cross-functional team, you’ll play a key role in supporting global engineering projects, ensuring all documentation meets client expectations, project timelines, and regulatory standards.

This is a mid-level to senior role—ideal for someone with a strong background in technical document control within engineering, manufacturing, or Oil & Gas industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit comprehensive document packages, including ITPs, MRBs, IOMs, and Material Certificates (e.g. EN 10204)
  • Coordinate inputs from internal departments (Sales, Engineering, QA, Production, R&D, Purchasing, Shipping, Finance) to meet tight project deadlines
  • Liaise directly with clients to clarify requirements, resolve documentation queries, and provide professional customer service
  • Maintain accurate records using the company’s Document Management System (DMS)
  • Support Project Managers with status updates, reporting, and document lifecycle tracking
  • Identify and resolve obstacles to ensure timely document and product delivery
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement of documentation processes and tools

About You

They will have a high attention to detail, and very skilled at managing their time and multiple deadlines. Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a technical document control role
  • Familiarity with project‑based documentation workflows for EPC contractors or global clients
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Experience with Document Management Systems (DMS) and understanding of Project Management principles
