About the role: As Social Media Manager working for one of our brand new FMCG brand accounts, you’ll own how the brand shows up day‑to‑day on social. You’ll be responsible for publishing, platform optimisation, and performance tracking – ensuring content is not just delivered, but delivered well: at the right time, in the right format, and continuously improving. Based in London on a hybrid basis (2–3 days per week), you’ll work closely with Social Strategists, Content Creators, Designers, Data Analysts, and Account Managers to keep output aligned and always moving forward. This is an execution‑critical role at the heart of a high‑volume social studio. You’ll own the publishing calendar, ensure every asset is platform‑optimised before it goes live, and feed performance insight back into the team to drive continuous improvement. The role bridges strategy (what the brand should do), content (what gets created), and data (what’s working). Success here looks like content that lands correctly every time, performance that improves week on week, and a team that has clear, actionable insight to work with.
What you will be doing:
- Publishing and Platform Management
- Own scheduling and publishing across platforms including TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts
- Ensure all content is posted on time, correctly formatted per platform, and aligned with channel strategy
- Manage platform calendars across always‑on content and campaign activity
- Adapt content for each platform – adjusting captions, formats, and structure to apply platform‑specific best practices
- Ensure every asset is fit for feed behaviour and optimised for engagement before it goes live
- Content Planning and Calendar Management
- Maintain and manage the content calendar, collaborating with Strategists, Account Managers, and Content teams to ensure delivery readiness
- Ensure a balanced mix of planned content, campaign activity, and reactive opportunities across the calendar at all times
- Community and Engagement Oversight
- Monitor social activity and flag key trends, audience conversations, and opportunities for engagement
- Work with the team to ensure responses are timely and interactions are aligned with brand tone
- Performance Tracking and Optimisation
- Monitor content performance across platforms, tracking metrics including engagement, reach, retention, and click‑through
- Provide clear, actionable performance feedback to Content Creators, Strategists, and the Social Creator Lead
- Identify what content to scale, what to optimise, and what to stop – and communicate findings clearly to the team
- Multi‑Market Coordination
- Support publishing and optimisation across markets, ensuring local adaptations are correctly implemented and market‑specific best practices are followed
- Work closely with Social Strategists, Content Creators, Designers, Data Analysts, and Account Managers to keep what is planned, produced, and published in alignment
- Maintain clear communication across teams on timelines, asset readiness, and platform requirements
- Process and Workflow Management
- Support and maintain publishing workflows, approval processes, and platform‑specific guidelines
- Identify inefficiencies and propose practical improvements that increase speed, accuracy, and reduce rework
- Budget and Financial Administration
- Track and report on content production spend at a project level, supporting accurate budget management across the studio
- Raise purchase orders and support invoice processing alongside the production team, escalating discrepancies promptly
What you need to be great in this role:
- Strong, practical knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts – including platform algorithms, content best practices, and audience behaviour
- Experience managing high‑volume publishing across multiple platforms and markets
- Demonstrated ability to manage content calendars, handle multiple publishing workstreams, and deliver consistently to deadlines
- Strong attention to detail across accuracy, formatting, and timing – in environments where getting it right every time matters
- Comfortable reading and applying performance metrics and platform insights to improve content outcomes
- Able to translate data into clear, actionable feedback for creative and strategy teams
- Experience working across creative, strategy, data, and client teams – with strong coordination skills and the ability to keep multiple stakeholders aligned
- Clear, confident communicator in fast‑moving, high‑volume environments
- Background in social media management, content publishing, or digital marketing – ideally across consumer or FMCG brands
- Experience in agency, in‑house, or embedded studio environments where always‑on delivery is the norm
- Experience supporting project‑level budget tracking and financial administration, including purchase orders and invoice processing
- Proficiency with Gen AI tools relevant to social media management – including tools that support publishing workflows, caption and copy generation, content variation, and performance analysis
- Experience building personal AI‑assisted workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload
- Agentic approach to platform and delivery challenges: able to identify patterns, break down problems, and find efficient solutions independently
- Ability to critically evaluate AI‑generated outputs and apply sound human judgement before publishing or acting on them
- Experience in multi‑market environments or embedded in‑house or studio setups
- Familiarity with social scheduling tools and community management workflows
- Experience coordinating influencer or creator‑led campaigns
- Formal qualifications are welcome but not required. Equivalent experience counts, whether gained through work, study, volunteering, or self‑directed learning.
