About the role: This is a senior leadership role within a high‑volume, always‑on in‑house agency embedded with one of the UK’s most recognised names in online gaming. The studio operates at pace within a heavily regulated and highly competitive industry — delivering a consistent flow of creative output across multiple channels and campaigns, with rigour and quality non‑negotiable at every stage.

As Account Director, you’ll be the senior client relationship lead, the operational anchor of the account, and the people leader for an integrated in‑house team — while also owning the day‑to‑day management of the client’s offshore studios. You’ll report into the Managing Partner and act as the senior escalation point on the account, responsible for balancing pace with governance, creative quality with volume, and short‑term delivery with longer‑term account development.

This role sits at the intersection of client leadership, creative quality, workflow governance, and team development. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary in‑house team of eight — including Project Managers, a Resource Manager, Designers, an Artworker, and a Copywriter — while maintaining direct accountability for the quality and volume of work flowing through the client’s offshore studios.

Success in this role looks like a client that feels consistently well‑supported and strategically advised; a team that delivers to brief, on time, and to a high creative standard; and an account that runs with operational discipline and clear commercial health.

What you will be doing:

  • Client Leadership and Relationship Management
    • Serve as the primary senior point of contact for the client’s marketing stakeholders — building a deep, trusted, and proactive relationship that operates ahead of client needs.
    • Lead senior client conversations across BAU delivery, campaign planning, and longer‑term account development.
    • Own weekly status reporting, business reviews, and escalation management — including preparation and presentation of monthly MI reports and quarterly QBR reviews.
    • Develop a thorough understanding of the brand, business objectives, competitive landscape, and the regulatory environment in which the client operates.
    • Anticipate client needs, flag risks early, and bring considered solutions before issues require escalation.
  • Team Leadership and People Development
    • Lead and manage an integrated in‑house team: 2 Project Managers, 1 Resource Manager, 2 Designers, 1 Artworker, and 1 Copywriter.
    • Own the day‑to‑day management of the client’s offshore studios — taking direct accountability for the quality and volume of work flowing through them, from briefing and prioritisation through to final output and delivery.
    • Support Project Managers and the Resource Manager in prioritising workloads, resolving blockers, and maintaining momentum across the account.
    • Set high standards for creative quality and delivery, and actively support the team in reaching and sustaining them.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across both in‑house and offshore teams.
  • Workflow and Operational Governance
    • Take ownership of workflow management across a high‑volume account — ensuring work is carefully planned, clearly prioritised, and delivered to agreed timelines and SLAs.
    • Maintain clear oversight of resource capacity across in‑house and offshore teams, working closely with the Resource Manager to balance demand against output.
    • Establish and uphold clear ways of working, governance structures, and quality checkpoints throughout the delivery process.
    • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce friction, and protect creative quality.
    • Develop proficiency in Pencil Pro to support project planning, workflow visibility, and resource management across the account.
  • Commercial and Account Health
    • Maintain active awareness of the commercial health of the account — including scope, resourcing, and changes that may have financial implications.
    • Partner with internal Finance and Operations teams to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of account performance.
    • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies to protect both delivery quality and account profitability.
    • Support scope conversations, account reviews, and longer‑term planning discussions with the Managing Partner and client stakeholders.
  • Creative Quality and Strategic Value
    • Act as the senior creative champion on the account — consistently pushing the team and the work to achieve more within the constraints of a regulated environment.
    • Help the team interpret briefs strategically, ensuring output is always considered, on‑brand, and commercially relevant.
    • Bring a clear and informed point of view on the creative and content standards appropriate for a regulated gaming environment.
    • Identify opportunities to add greater strategic value, introduce new capabilities, or evolve how the team supports the client over time.

What you need to be great in this role:

  • Proven experience leading complex, high‑volume accounts within a creative, marketing, or production agency environment — with multiple workstreams running simultaneously.
  • Track record of building trusted senior client relationships, managing escalations professionally, and operating proactively to stay ahead of client needs.
  • Experience preparing and presenting MI reports, QBR reviews, and business performance narratives to senior stakeholders.
  • Background in or strong familiarity with regulated industries — gaming, gambling, financial services, or equivalent — is a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams — setting high standards, giving clear feedback, and supporting people to perform at their best.
  • Experience providing oversight of offshore or remote production teams, with accountability for quality, volume, and delivery performance.
  • Ability to support Project Managers and Resource Managers in prioritising effectively and maintaining momentum under pressure.
  • Confident and experienced approach to workflow planning, prioritisation, and resource management across large, always‑on accounts.
  • Track record of establishing and maintaining governance structures, ways of working, and quality checkpoints that protect creative standards at pace.
  • Experience with Pencil Pro or a willingness to develop proficiency in it quickly as a core planning and visibility tool on the account.
  • Clear understanding of how delivery, resourcing, and scope interact with account profitability — with experience partnering with Finance and Operations to track and report on account health.
  • Ability to identify commercial risks early and bring structured mitigation strategies to the table.
  • Track record of managing account‑level budgets — monitoring scope, tracking resourcing costs, and reporting on financial performance to internal and client stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting scope conversations and account reviews with accurate, data‑backed financial context.
  • Confident communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills — including experience producing and presenting MI reports, business reviews, and senior stakeholder communications.
  • Ability to translate performance data and MI into clear, compelling narratives that demonstrate account value to the client.
  • Experience integrating Gen AI tools across team workflows and account operations — including tools that support briefing, reporting, workflow documentation, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ability to guide a multidisciplinary team in responsible AI adoption and mentor others in critically evaluating AI‑generated outputs before they are shared or acted on.
  • Experience establishing quality standards for AI‑assisted work at account level, ensuring appropriate human oversight throughout.
  • Agentic approach to complex account and delivery challenges — systematic in identifying risks and solutions, decisive in prioritisation, and consistent in driving follow‑through across in‑house and offshore teams.
  • Familiarity with Pencil Pro or comparable workflow and resource management platforms.
  • Experience managing offshore or remote production teams within an in‑house or embedded agency model.
  • Background in gaming, gambling, or other regulated industries.
  • Formal qualifications are welcome but not required. Equivalent experience counts, whether gained through work, study, volunteering, or self‑directed learning.

Our values shape everything we do:

  • Be imaginative to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
  • Be always learning and listening to understand.
  • Be actively pro‑inclusive and anti‑racist across our community, clients and creations.
