About the role:

Working in partnership with our client, the artwork lead will be a key member of the team providing leadership and best practice in print and production, online artwork and design services. The artwork lead takes responsibility for instilling best practices into the offshore artwork team, and supporting the creative services manager, art director and lead designer to deliver all BAU, from stand-alone projects to major campaigns. This role will be a mix of artworker line management, and artworking excellence, especially helping to deliver the more complex campaigns with multiple cross-channel deliverables. Reporting to the Creative Services Manager, the Artwork Lead will be part of a team (currently 19) that may up or downsize depending on seasonal demands. We have offshore designers and artworkers based in India, and the client services team, art director and lead designers in the UK.

What you will be doing:

  • Produce high quality artwork in line with a given brief and industry standards for print and digital formats
  • Work collaboratively in a team to develop and execute innovative ideas
  • A good understanding of typography, space and layout as well as text formatting
  • Good working knowledge of repro and print processes, including colour management
  • Good working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, including; InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Basic retouching skills
  • Comfortable working to short deadlines and fast turnaround times
  • A proven mentor and line manager to less experienced artworkers
  • Working in a team of 19, possibly 3 or 4 direct reports
  • You will be open and willing to attend sustainability training relevant to your role and soak up recommended research and reading about sustainability issues

What you need to be great in this role:

  • Excellent art-working skills across integrated media and experience in management of artwork collateral
  • The ability to take, interpret and deliver creative artwork and presentation projects
  • The ability to adhere to brand guidelines
  • Strong Adobe CS (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) skills
  • A great team player with a client centric focus and the ability to build strong and effective working relationships
  • A keen eye for consistency across multiple jobs
  • Experience in leisure and holidays is a bonus but not essential
  • Experience working with pace and a very high volume of assets
  • You can be the change - you prioritise environmental responsibility, social equity, and economic viability and how that translates into your day-to-day role
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in: Artwork, Print and Production, Web assets, Social media
