Job Description

Payroller

Glasgow

£36k - £38k plus bonus

Hybrid (3 days at home / 2 days in the office)

28 days holiday per year (enhanced pension scheme)

Oliver Smith Recruitment are working in partnership with our key client in Glasgow to appoint an experienced Payroll Assistant on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2 years’ bureau experience who thrives in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment and enjoys delivering a high‑quality service to a varied client base.


You will support a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery across multiple pay frequencies.


Responsibilities include:


  • Processing high‑volume payroll data and maintaining accurate records
  • Calculating net pay, statutory payments and deductions
  • Managing FPS/EPS submissions and liaising with HMRC
  • Preparing BACS files and notifying clients of PAYE liabilities
  • Supporting month‑end and year‑end reporting, including P45/P46
  • Handling pension uploads, auto‑enrolment tasks and provider liaison
  • Monitoring HMRC downloads (tax codes, student loans, opt‑outs)
  • Maintaining confidentiality and compliance at all times
