Glasgow Southside (free parking)
Oliver Smith Recruitment are working in partnership with a well-established Chartered Accountants firm located in the Southside of Glasgow to recruit an Accountant on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will be highly intelligent with a strong understanding of accountancy and tax for small-medium sized businesses, with a keen attention to detail and willingness to learn. At least three years of practice experience is required, with at least AAT level 3 having been achieved.
Duties
- Assist in managing a portfolio of clients to meet compliance requirements.
- Direct communication with clients to assist with basic queries and information requests.
- Reporting key information to Senior Management.
- Bookkeeping (predominantly via reviewing of work completed by others, and working through non-standard transactions).
- Preparation of VAT returns.
- Preparation of annual accounts and corporation tax returns.
- Preparation of self-assessment tax returns for individuals.
- Preparation of management accounts for larger clients.
- Preparation and submission of confirmation statements and other company secretarial work.
- Assist with ad hoc tax and financial reporting projects as and when required.
