FTC / Interim | 6–12 Months | Temp-to-Perm | Hybrid | London

Can you turn reactive communications into proactive influence? Oliver Sanderson has been retained to appoint a Director of Communications for a major UK utilities organisation. This is more than a media role. You’ll lead the communications team, raise standards, develop talent and build a proactive communications strategy - while remaining hands-on when reputation or crisis issues arise.

You’ll lead across external communications, media, digital and brand, acting as a senior adviser to the Executive Team and a visible deputy to the Director of Corporate Affairs.

  • Strong media, reputation and crisis credentials
  • Proven ability to coach, develop and performance-manage teams
  • Excellent editorial judgement and quality control
  • A track record of proactive campaigns and forward planning
  • Confidence operating with C-suite and senior stakeholders
  • Utilities, infrastructure, transport, rail or other regulated-sector experience preferred
