An established and rapidly growing organisation operating within the renewable energy infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Bid Manager / Key Account Manager to support the continued expansion across the UK. This role sits within the Business Development function and will play a critical role in securing large-scale EPC contracts, while managing relationships with strategic customers and investment partners. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, internal technical teams and major energy investors to develop opportunities and lead complex bid processes from early-stage identification through to contract award.
The Role
This position combines strategic key account management with hands-on bid leadership for major renewable infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the full bid lifecycle for solar and battery storage opportunities.
- Coordinate internal teams across engineering, procurement, commercial, cost estimation and construction.
- Ensure proposals are technically robust, commercially competitive and deliverable.
Commercial & Contractual Support
- Work with legal and commercial teams to shape EPC and O&M contractual positions.
- Support negotiations to ensure commercially sustainable agreements and favourable payment structures.
Pipeline & Performance Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM pipeline reporting and contribute to forward business planning and budgeting.
- Track bid performance and support the development of a multi-year sales strategy.
- Monitor UK renewable market developments including policy changes, grid reform and market activity.
- Provide internal insight on competitors, emerging developers and project viability trends.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a commercially minded professional with strong experience in the renewable energy field. Key requirements include:
- Proven business development or bid management experience in renewable energy.
- Background within EPC, ICP, renewable project development or OEM environments.
- Strong understanding of key technologies including: Solar PV, Inverters, BESS, SCADA.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in the renewable energy construction or development sector.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior decision makers and executive committees.
Working Arrangement
- Regular presence in London for internal and client meetings.
- Occasional site visits across the UK to maintain close alignment with delivery teams.
