We're looking for a hands-on machine operator from a steel background who is ready to learn something new and build a long-term career. You will be trained to set and operate both flatbed and tube lasers, working alongside experienced staff in a supportive, fast-paced environment. Once fully trained, pay rates will increase significantly, making this a strong opportunity to upskill and improve your earnings.
Shift Pattern (Afternoons Only):
- Monday - Thursday: 13:30 - 22:00
- Friday: 13:30 - 19:00
This role is suited to someone who prefers later starts and afternoon working.
Responsibilities:
- Learning to set and operate flatbed and tube laser machines
- Inspecting finished parts to ensure quality standards are met
- Operating an overhead crane
- Reading and working from engineering drawings
- Supporting production and developing technical skills
Requirements:
- Strong experience within the steel or manufacturing industry
- Previous machine operating experience
- Willingness to learn and progress into a setter role
- Good attention to detail and work ethic
