£32k - £38k per annum

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Friday: 8:00am - 3:00pm

The Role:

As Production Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimising production activity across multiple departments including laser cutting, bending, welding, and finishing. You'll ensure schedules are realistic, resources are maximised, and customer orders are delivered on time. This is a fast-paced role that requires strong organisation, clear communication, and the ability to think ahead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage daily and weekly production schedules
  • Coordinate workflow across CNC laser, punch, press brake, fabrication, and finishing departments
  • Monitor progress and quickly resolve delays or bottlenecks
  • Liaise with procurement to ensure materials are available when required
  • Work with internal teams to prioritise urgent or high-value orders
  • Improve efficiency across machines and labour utilisation
  • Track KPIs including on-time delivery, lead times, and work-in-progress
  • Present weekly capacity plans and highlight constraints
  • Maintain accurate planning data within internal systems
  • Support continuous improvement and long-term planning

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in production planning or scheduling within manufacturing
  • Understanding of fabrication processes (laser cutting, bending, welding etc.) advantageous
  • Experience using ERP or planning systems
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
  • Strong communicator and team player
