Job Title: Foundry Worker

Location: Stourbridge

Pay Rates: 11.44 – 15.25 per hour

Shift Patterns: 07:00am – 03:30pm flexibility required.

As a foundry technician, you will be working in the heart of a bustling foundry based in Lye. Our client has a phenomenal amount of new business coming through the door and is looking for an experienced Foundry Technician to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Sand Lab Testing – Complete all hourly sand checks on both backing and facing sand, (Compactability, green strength, Permeability, moisture, Mould hardness, Wet Tensile & sand temperature).
  • Record results on computer.
  • Contribute to testing of metal by providing temperature recordings of 1st and last moulds casting temperatures, whilst monitoring pour speeds.
  • Assist with Core machine calibration of all core machines monthly or when required
  • Following any pre-use checks and shutdown procedures.
  • Reporting any concerns relating to castings quality.
  • Promote ideas to optimise productivity and manufacturing output
  • Maintain clean work station and clean tools.
  • Participate and feedback concerns with design and development of cast products, materials, testing and process studies
  • General housekeeping duties.

Qualification/experience:

  • Must be able to lift heavy products as some products are 25kg.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft packages.
  • Must be able to follow instructions.
  • Must be a good communicator as much reporting will be involved in this role.

  • 07:00am – 15:30 + overtime.
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours.
  • 30-minute unpaid break.

  • Permanently employed directly by the business after 12 weeks of working through Oliver Rae.
