Location: Lye (Dudley borough)

Shift Patterns: Monday - Friday 05:00am - 13:00pm (Must be flexible to do overtime until 15:00pm)

We are seeking an experienced Furnace Operator who is looking for a long-term permanent role! Join a well-established and growing foundry that truly puts its people first. Responsibilities:

  • Operate a medium frequency, electric induction furnace - turn on and operate and control power input
  • Safely operate hydraulic systems to tilt and pour from a furnace
  • Understand the basic arrangement of a furnace body
  • Understand what earth leakage is
  • Understand what emergency water is for
  • Charge furnace - safely charge or add materials to furnaces
  • Remove slag from the furnace before testing and pouring
  • Casting - pouring moulds and/or operating OHC
  • Understand additions and can calculate the additions required
  • Understand energy requirements to melt metal - power Kilowatts, frequency and volts
  • Frit furnace refractory
  • Install and repair refractories
  • Monitor wear and lining performance

Qualification/experience:

  • Electric Induction Furnace Operating
  • Casting experience is preferred but not necessary
  • FLT Licence / experience is preferred
  • Overhead Crane experience is required

Benefits and working hours:

  • Monday - Friday (Plenty of overtime)
  • 05:00 - 15:00 (option to stay on longer if you wish)
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours.
  • 30-minute unpaid break.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Factory shutdowns.
  • Permanently employed directly by the business after 12 weeks of working through Oliver Rae.
