Founded in Manchester in 2002, Oliver James is a global recruitment business with offices across the UK, Europe, the US, and Asia-Pacific.

About the role
We’re looking for a
Senior Marketing Executive to take ownership of content, SEO, and data across our four brands, and to help shape how AI supports the way our marketing team operates.
This role is for someone who wants genuine variety and real ownership, not a narrow, single-lane specialism.
This role sits between strategy and execution, working across four brands and multiple global teams.
You’ll take objectives, shape plans, and help ensure everything we produce stays aligned, effective, and commercially relevant, from weekly content and page-builds to reporting presented to senior leadership.
We’re looking for someone who understands how channels, campaigns, and outputs work together, and is confident bringing ideas and direction that raise the quality of delivery.
A strong grip on SEO and digital performance is a big plus, but this is about connecting strategy, activity, and outcomes, not owning one channel.
You’ll report into the Head of Marketing and work alongside our Head of Brand and Senior Designer, collaborating closely across our global sales teams, and operational teams such as product and tech, to execute and lead on marketing activity.
This role suits someone ambitious, who enjoys working across a variety of teams and aspects of marketing, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is happy getting stuck into the detail.
- What you’ll be doing
- Content, SEO & Digital Performance
- Plan and deliver multi-channel content and campaigns across email and social.
- Own SEO, AEO/GEO, and local search strategy, keeping our websites optimised and up to date with fresh, commercially aligned content.
- Support CRM and email marketing with automated workflows, audience segmentation, and nurture campaigns across the right touchpoints.
- Produce compelling written content, from blogs and guides to brochures and press material.
- Social Media & Brand Presence
- Manage social media channels, scheduling, and engagement across platforms.
- Monitor performance and contribute to brand-building initiatives.
- Partner closely with sales and front-office teams to identify where marketing can enhance performance and create and distribute sales enablement materials.
- Support marketing for key events, launches, and sales-driven activity.
- Creative & Project Delivery
- Work with the design team to manage and deliver creative briefs across the Group.
- Use tools like Asana to keep projects on track and aligned with timelines.
- Reporting & Analytics
- Own analytics tools like Google Analytics and reporting dashboards, presenting insight and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Manage internal marketing systems and processes to keep delivery and reporting running smoothly.
- AI & Marketing Automation
- Scope and build AI-powered tools and automations with the Head of Marketing to increase output and efficiency.
- Identify and implement AI-driven efficiencies across the team’s day-to-day ways of working.
- Stay ahead of developments in AI and marketing automation, bringing fresh ideas to the team.
- What we’re looking for
- Required
- Around 3 to 5 years’ experience in a marketing role, with genuine breadth across digital, campaign coordination, content and analytics.
- A strong, confident writer with an eye for detail who can produce polished copy without heavy editing.
- Solid grounding in SEO fundamentals.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities,
- A proactive, hands-on mindset, comfortable interpreting performance data and using it to support marketing decisions.
- Previous experience in a sales-led or recruitment business.
- Familiarity with AI-driven marketing tools, automation platforms, and AI-enhanced workflows.
- Curiosity about where AEO and GEO are heading and comfortable with tools like Google Analytics, Semrush, Word Press, and social media platforms.
- Exposure to multi-brand, global marketing.
- A tech-curious, growth-minded team player with a genuine interest in improving the quality of marketing activity.
- Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
- Relaxed dress code.
- Private healthcare and dental cover.
- Discretionary quarterly bonus, subject to performance and objectives delivery.
- Extended lunch break for health and fitness activity.
- Office close-down over Christmas
- Regular social events and team activities
