NetSuite Functional Consultant - 6-Month Contract - £700/day (Outside IR35) Hybrid (Manchester) - Approx. 1 Day On-Site Per Month
Oliver James has partnered with a leading national rental business undergoing a major NetSuite ERP transformation. With the programme already in motion, the organisation is now seeking an experienced NetSuite Functional Consultant to bring structure, best practice and clarity to a complex multi-system landscape.
This role sits at the centre of the programme - shaping functional design, guiding configuration, and leading integration thinking across 16 connected systems. You will work closely with internal technology teams and an SI partner giving you the autonomy to influence the solution and ensure the build aligns with business needs.
The Role
- Lead requirements gathering and solution design, running workshops across Finance, Operations, Procurement, and Commercial.
- Define and own the functional design, ensuring best practice is followed and unnecessary customisation is avoided.
- Guide integration design across 16 systems, partnering with internal tech teams and the SI to align architecture and data flows.
- Configure core NetSuite modules, including Financials, Order Management, Inventory, and Reporting.
- Support data migration, including mapping, validation, and dry-run reviews.
- Drive the testing workstream, authoring scripts, managing SIT/UAT, and coordinating defect resolution.
- Support training, cutover, and hypercare, ensuring a smooth transition into BAU.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role with high visibility, strong business engagement, and the chance to directly influence a flagship transformation.
Experience Required
- Multiple end-to-end NetSuite implementations under their belt.
- Strong functional expertise across Financials, O2C, P2P, Inventory, and Reporting.
- Proven experience producing high-quality functional design documentation.
- Exposure to integration design, API-based connectivity, and working with technical teams.
- Experience supporting data migration and leading SIT/UAT cycles.
- Excellent communication skills - able to challenge, advise, and guide stakeholders confidently.
- A delivery-driven mindset with the ability to bring structure where it's currently lacking.
