Role Overview
We are seeking a Legal Technology & Innovation Manager to lead the identification, development, and deployment of legal technology initiatives across the firm. This position combines strategic oversight with hands‐on project delivery and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving innovation projects from initial concept and business case development through to implementation, training, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with partners, associates, business services professionals, and in some cases clients, to design solutions that streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance the overall client experience.
Key areas of technology focus may include:
- Artificial intelligence solutions, including generative AI applications
- Automated document production and rule‐based expert systems
- Workflow and process automation, including robotic process automation (RPA)
- Knowledge management and information retrieval platforms
- Collaboration, matter management, and project tracking tools
- Data analytics, reporting dashboards, and visualisation technologies
Core Responsibilities
- Partner with legal and business teams to identify opportunities where technology can improve delivery, reduce risk, or create competitive advantage
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of legal technology platforms
- Develop prototypes and pilot programmes to test innovative solutions before wider rollout
- Manage multiple technology initiatives simultaneously, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and budgets
- Drive adoption through structured change management, stakeholder engagement, and clear communication
- Deliver training sessions, workshops, and demonstrations to maximise effective use of new tools
- Provide ongoing support and continuous improvement recommendations post‐implementation
- Build strong working relationships across practice groups and corporate functions
- Contribute to client pitches, panel presentations, and innovation-focused discussions
- Monitor developments in legal technology and assess their relevance to the firm's strategic objectives
- Supervise and mentor junior members of the innovation team
