Risk & Compliance Manager | Liverpool | £50,000 + Bonus
I'm working with a rapidly growing financial services business in Liverpool that is looking to strengthen its Risk & Compliance function with the appointment of a Risk & Compliance Manager.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with the business and wants to play a key role in developing risk culture across a growing and diverse organisation.
The business has experienced significant growth and has ambitious plans to continue expanding, creating an exciting time to join the team.
The Role
You'll work closely with teams across the business to support the existing Risk & Compliance framework, with a particular focus on Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs).
A key part of the role will be helping the business embed the RCSA process and further develop its overall risk culture.
You'll need to be comfortable communicating with people at all levels of the organisation, from senior leadership through to operational teams.
What they're looking for:
- Experience within Risk & Compliance in financial services
- Strong experience with RCSAs
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to adapt your communication style to different audiences
- An approachable and collaborative style
- The ability to work closely with the business rather than simply operate within a traditional second-line function
- A genuine customer-focused mindset and the ability to consider risk from the customer's perspective
Insurance experience will be considered, although broader financial services experience would be preferable.
Customer focus is particularly important. The successful candidate will need to understand the impact of risk, controls and processes from the customer's point of view and be able to bring that perspective into conversations with the business.
The Package
- £50,000 basic salary, with some flexibility for the right person
- 5% bonus
- Private medical insurance
- 3% employer pension contribution / 5% employee contribution
- Liverpool-based with hybrid working - 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
The Process
- First stage: 45-minute virtual interview covering your experience, the role and the business.
- Second stage: Face-to-face interview, including a short presentation.
- The business is able to move quickly and is looking to arrange first-stage interviews shortly.
