Job Description

Graduate Risk Analyst

Oliver James are partnered with a fast-growing and innovative Lloyd's syndicate looking to hire a Graduate Risk Analyst to join their London-based team. This is a special opportunity for a scientifically minded graduate to break into the world of reinsurance – no prior industry experience required. You will help assess complex Global risks including natural catastrophes and climate-related exposures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyse client submissions and exposure data.

  • Maintain catastrophe models across risk portfolios.

  • Research and interpret scientific and market data.

  • Collaborate across underwriting, actuarial and broking teams.

  • Deliver clear reports and presentations.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Geography, Geophysics, Climatology, Oceanography, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Excel with knowledge of Python or GIS a plus.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Prior exposure to catastrophe modelling, climate science, or risk analysis is beneficial.
