Oliver James are partnered with a global consulting group in assisting their search for a Cloud Data Architect at Senior Manager grade to join their robust Technology & Data practice. This role can sit in either London, Manchester or Leeds paying circa £100,000 - £110,000 plus a range of extras. Our client's engagements sit across FTSE 100s, mid-market clients and government agencies; across a varied range of experiences, a supportive team and an exciting career working in technology, data and analytics. This role will provide you with an opportunity to work across a portfolio of clients, with a focus on large and complex organisations in the Commercial sector.
What your days will look like:
- Overseeing the architecture and delivery of data transformation projects with clients.
- Working with clients to design the right architectural patterns for their use-cases business needs, which may include the designing of solutions such as a data lake or lakehouse.
- Assisting clients in the selection of the right technology for their future data architecture which could include the core data platform, pipeline architecture and governance tooling.
- Oversight and leadership of data transformation projects from a technical perspective to ensure the right solution is implemented with the correct controls and quality.
- Building and managing client relationships including with C-level staff, Heads of Data and Analytics, IT and Data Architects and other business stakeholders during the lifecycle of a project.
Experience required across:
- Cloud based data lakes and data platform solutions with the likes of Databricks, Azure, AWS or Snowflake.
- Data modelling - the ability to design and implement data models from conceptual through to physical which could include slowly changing dimensions or single customer views.
- Experience in the various approaches to ingest data (ETL vs ELT) from different sources such as direct connect and APIs.
- Experience in designing the infrastructure elements of a cloud platform including the setup and implementation of DevOps, networking and security elements.
- Strong business acumen in relation to Analytics, having had experience within at least one business area function (e.g Marketing, Sales, Finance, Workforce, Procurement etc.).
