Overview
In this role you will lead high-quality reserving analysis across a broad P&C portfolio within a leading international insurer. You will partner with Underwriting, Claims, Finance and Risk to provide actuarial insight for quarterly reserving, regulatory reporting and governance. You’ll contribute to an actuarial transformation programme and help drive automation and process improvements. The role combines technical reserving with stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration to shape business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver quarterly technical reserving analysis across multiple P&C lines
- Provide actuarial insight into reserve movements, trends and emerging claims experience
- Challenge assumptions with Underwriters and communicate actuarial judgement
- Support UK and European legal entities across UK GAAP, French GAAP, Solvency II and Solvency UK reporting
- Contribute to annual portfolio reviews and actuarial reporting
- Support regulatory, audit and governance requirements including auditor queries
- Contribute to actuarial transformation programmes and identify automation opportunities
- Collaborate with international actuarial, claims, underwriting, finance and risk teams
- Mentor and support junior actuarial team members
Key requirements
- Qualified P&C actuary (FIA, FCAS, FIAA or equivalent)
- Significant P&C reserving experience
- Experience in the London Market or Specialty insurance environment
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, French GAAP, Solvency II and/or Solvency UK
- Knowledge of IFRS 17
- Experience analysing financial impacts and reserve movements
- Ability to communicate with senior Underwriters and challenge assumptions constructively
- Strong understanding of P&C insurance and reinsurance products and reserving methodologies
- Experience with actuarial software; ResQ experience is a plus
