Overview
In this permanent Head of Controls role within an esteemed insurance-focused finance team, you will oversee control systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. You will direct the preparation of key financial statements and regulatory reports, and drive compliance with budgetary requirements. You will lead audits and mentor the finance team to strengthen controls and performance. Responsibilities
- Oversee development and implementation of control systems for accurate/ timely financial reporting
- Direct preparation of financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, regulatory reports)
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements
- Assess and improve processes to streamline financial practices and efficiency
- Lead internal and external audits to ensure GAAP adherence
- Provide leadership and training to the finance department to achieve financial objectives
