Oliver James are recruiting on behalf of a leading BPA provider who are seeking a part qualified or qualified actuary to support in longevity risk. This is a London based fixed term contract for a duration of 12 months. This is a UK based fixed term contract – you must live and pay tax in the UK to be considered.

Location: Hybrid travel to London based office.

Salary:

  • Qualified Actuary: up to £80,000 per annum
  • Part Qualified (exam stopper): up to £60,000 per annum (plus 25% completion bonus)

Responsibilities:

  • Support the pricing of Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) transactions.
  • Deliver reinsurance strategy and support reinsurance pricing and negotiations.
  • Analyse defined benefit pension scheme data and set longevity assumptions.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified or part-qualified actuary (or exam stopper).
  • Experienced within a UK pensions provider or life insurer.
  • Strong knowledge of UK DB pension schemes and benefit structures.
  • Experience in BPA, longevity risk, reinsurance, pricing or valuations.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
