We are seeking a dedicated and proactive IT technician to join our supportive team in providing high quality IT services across our specialist schools for pupils with autism and complex needs in the Chorley, Leyland and Preston area.

This new position will play a vital role in ensuring that pupils and staff have access to reliable and effective technology to support teaching, learning and communication.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with excellent technical knowledge and a passion for making a real difference in an inclusive educational setting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to staff and pupils.
  • Responding to central help desk requests promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot hardware including PC\’s, laptops, tablets, interactive whiteboards, printers and mobile devices.
  • Support software installation updates and user access across a range of educational and assistive programs.
  • Ensure network Internet and Wi-Fi systems are operating securely and efficiently assist with maintenance and IT inventories and asset tracking.
  • Support the use of technology to aid learning communication for pupils with autism and complex needs including assistive devices and specialist software.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching and support staff to ensure IT enhances learning experiences.
  • Uphold data protection, safeguarding and online safety policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in IT support and or a technician role preferably with relevant IT qualifications and experience of working in an educational setting. A good knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365 and general working principles is essential. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be patient and approachable with a flexible proactive approach to problem solving and a strong commitment supporting children with additional needs. A keen awareness of safeguarding practices and the importance of confidentiality will be essential for working in the role.
