Reporting to: Buying Manager | Location: Oliver Brown Head Office/ City of London | Hours of work: 09.00 - 18.00 | Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 | Start Date: TBC

Role Summary

The Buying, Product Development & Production Coordinator is responsible for supporting the end-to-end development and delivery of product, ensuring that garments meet brand standards for quality, fit, and commercial viability. This role works closely with the Buying Manager, suppliers, and warehouse operations to manage the critical path, coordinate samples, monitor production timelines, and ensure stock arrives on time and to specification. This position requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting production issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Buying & Merchandising Support
    • Managing the core line buys
    • Work to the production critical path set by the Buying Manager to ensure stock levels meet business requirements.
    • Manage supplier communication and maintain accurate product data.
    • Liaise with suppliers to source raw materials and trims.
    • Analyse sales and stock levels to support production planning.
    • Communicate any production issues or delays to the wider business.
  • Product Development & Sampling
    • Develop and manage technical specifications in line with design and cost targets.
    • Review fabric and trim suitability for intended garment use.
    • Coordinate sampling stages including prototype, pre‑production and sealing samples.
    • Ensure garment fit, quality, and construction meet brand expectations.
  • Fit & Quality Assurance
    • Attend and support fit sessions, documenting changes and technical comments.
    • Record fit and construction feedback accurately and communicate to suppliers.
    • Maintain size charts, measurement standards, and quality control guidelines.
    • Approve or reject samples based on fit, finish, and accuracy to specification.
  • Production & Logistics Coordination
    • Accept, quality check, and cross‑reference product deliveries in collaboration with the Buying Manager.
    • Report potential delays or issues to Buying Manager with solutions.
    • Work in collaboration with Operations/Warehouse to ensure timely delivery to store.

Experience

Ideally 1-3 years in Buying, Product Development, Production Coordination or similar. Experience within fashion, apparel production, or supply chain preferred.
